New Outreach Ministry is Launched

For several months God had been placing a heavy burden on the heart of Cliff Reber. He had given his construction skills to the Lord and had used them for the Lord to help
hurricane victims and church members. But he longed to be used fulltime in a ministry that could combine his skills with opportunities to share the Gospel.
God used a message from Proverbs 13:12 delivered by Mr. Ken Rudolf on January 28th of this year to convince Cliff to launch his own ministry. After sharing his burden and praying with Pastor Jones, he formed a board for his new ministry. The name, “Handymen For Christ”, was selected. A mission statement was adopted: Handymen For Christ exists to help open hearts to the love of Jesus by modeling that love and giving hope through the improving of the homes and/or vehicles of those in need.”
“Handymen For Christ” has its own tax exempt status. The ministry has been approved by the deacons to function as a ministry of First Baptist Church of Otsego.
The aim of the ministry is to use home and car repairs, for those who could not otherwise afford it, as a means to show the love of Jesus and share the Gospel. While handymen are doing the work, someone will be assigned to assist the client with spiritual needs.
It is hoped that many materials will be donated or purchased at a reduced cost. But, obviously, there will still be a great need for cash donations in order to accomplish this mission. If you would like to donate to this ministry, you may do so by marking your giving envelope, “Handymen For Christ” on the line that says, “Other”, and placing it in the offering plate. If you would be willing to use your skills in this ministry, contact Cliff Reber by phone at 269-271-2113 or by e-mail at mireber@chartermi.net.
